A devastating earthquake shook up much of Chile last week, killing 700 civilians. The earthquake has left a trail of damage and also led to giant tsunami’s rippling across the Pacific. Monticello Casino in Santiago, Chile has been one of many buildings in Chile which has sustained heavy damage and as a result, has had to shut it’s doors to the public whilst the damage is repaired.
The cost of the damage is about $8 million dollars with many of the retail areas of the casino having to close down. Luckily, the casino has a strong insurance plan which will be used to cover the costs of repairing the casino. None of the casino staff were killed when the earthquake struck, with only five staff injured and needing to receive medical treatment.
