Police have arrested a man they believe responsible for a series of blackouts at the Marina Bay casino. The description has been released of the man as a Chinese national and is an engineer employed as a subcontracter of the resort. His main motive for the sabotage was over wage arguments and felt that by causing a series of blackouts for the casino that it would even up the ledger for the work that he had been asked to do but unsettled for.
The case is now in the hands of the Computer Misuse Act and is in the hands of the police. The man is now out on police bail. The blackouts managed the affect a small area of the gaming area of Marina Bay Sands casino, but did not cause much disruption to the gaming area with backup power immediately overriding the main power.
