Bwin and Party Gaming Holding Talks
18th December 2009

Two of the emerging players in the online poker market are in preliminary discussions of a merger worth over two billion pounds. Bwin and Party Gaming are two strong online poker sites, with each commanding a different segment of the market. Party Gaming ranks third on the online poker ladder of player numbers and is continually making inroads on the market that is dominated by Pokerstars and Fulltilt Poker. Bwin has a strong hold of the European market and is recognised as a strong brand there, with many online poker players playing on Bwin to satellite to major poker tournaments.

Bwin was recently awarded the 2009 eGaming Review Operator of the year. Party gaming has recently featured in buying out the WPT Enterprises for $15.3 million. This is a major step forward for Party Gaming which mean many online poker players will use Party Gaming to satellite to major live tournaments. Both online gaming companies are valued at the one billion pound mark.
