Belgian poker players have plenty to talk about with the Belgian Government discussing changes to the online gaming laws. With greater control of it’s citizens as the main objective, the government has discussed ideas of nationalising poker and excluding it’s players from playing on offshore sites. New poker rooms will be licensed by the government and given permission to operate within the country. This particular move violates agreements made with the European Commission Free Trade Agreement.
Online forums have erupted in concern over this fact with the Belgian players voicing their anger over this planned ruling. A similar move has been recently implemented in Italy which also excludes players from playing on sites that are not licensed by the country. The new online gambling laws look like commencing in late 2010 or early 2011.
