WagerTracker.com Relaunches Online Software
28 August, 2007

NEWS

Nearly a year after embarking on a dramatic design and systems upgrade of the program that permits sports fans and handicappers to track their bets online, WagerTracker.com's final product has arrived with many more bells and whistles.

It's also useful for fantasy sports fans as well as those playing NFL contests, who may need to go with or against the grain of public opinion when making their decisions.

"It's like a perfect storm of sports handicapping tools, sports contests and software to run your sports pools online," explained professional sports handicapper Rich Crew, who advised on some of the gameplay and programming re-design. "Everyone likes to claim that their site provides everything a sports fan needs in one spot, but WagerTracker.com comes the closest to actually backing up the claim."

Sports handicappers have long reveled in the wager-tracker program that permits them to log picks and bets made in contests, at a sports lottery kiosk or at overseas and Vegas-based sportsbooks.

The new engine provides all that core functionality and plenty of valuable new features to help them identify handicapping trends and target winning angles.

"Handicappers can do their research on WagerTracker using the consensus plays tool, which shows which side of a game is getting the lion's share of public, or recreational, money," said Crew.

WagerTracker.com has also enhanced its monitoring of wagering habits and displaying that data in easy-to-read formats. Sports bettors have been able to identify mistakes and patterns in their wagering styles that can be mitigated after viewing WagerTracker.com reports.

"You can sort by sport, by bet type and various other means that can help improve return on investment at the sportsbook. You like to think you can manage these leaks in your handicapping style, but until you see it right there in front of you in black and white, it can be a money-losing blind spot for even a successful handicapper."

The site is also home to a larger array of free sports handicapping competitions including NFL and college football handicapping contests. Players can pocket real cash from the free challenges, where sponsors expect to give away more than $10,000 in 2007-2008. The contests encourage creative gameplay by picking winners based on point spreads, totals and moneylines.

Free office pool software is a new cornerstone of the site and offers fantasy sports gurus and other contest fanatics a robust platform from which to run their games and leagues. "Sports fans have access to plenty of free pools software, but much of it is garbage, quite frankly," said Crew. "This is clean, scaleable and configurable. And best of all, it's free." The site will be going live with new football handicapping contests in the next week, while its ongoing baseball contests continue through October.
