Dallas Cowboys (+160)
Dallas did a good job of adding to their roster in the offseason. The revolving door at the Kicker position seems to have been locked after the team signed Peyton Manning favorite Mike Vanderjagt. Vanderjagt may have missed a crucial FG in the playoffs, but he still is among the league’s best and Terrell Owens is an elite Wideout—when he decides to shut up. Bill Parcells and the ‘boys look to be the cream of the Eastern crop, but buyer beware.
T.O. hasn’t said anything to offend QB Drew Bledsoe yet, but there could be storm clouds forming in the Dallas skyline.
Even though an MRI came back negative, T.O. insisted on missing 14 straight practices due to a supposed hamstring injury. Though head coach Bill Parcells hasn’t said anything, he doesn’t tolerate dissent amongst his players—hello Terry Glenn. The Big Tuna proceeded to hold the former Eagle out of a game against the New Orleans Saints, despite the fact T.O. had made five straight practices. Was the Tuna teaching T.O. a lesson?
A very reliable NFL Insider, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King to be exact, has said that there is a distinct possibility that Tony Romo could unseat Drew Bledsoe at the QB position. Although Dallas the football team is starting to resemble Dallas the TV series, America’s favorite team should still be a beast in the NFC East.
