Softec Systems, a major provider of online casino software, announced that it has terminated the agreement and all software, financial and related casino services and support they were providing to Las Vegas Casino. The termination, effective July 23, 1999, is a result of a breach of contract for non-payment of license fees, Softec says.
This puts Las Vegas Casino out of business and leaves their customers scrambling for the money in their Las Vegas Casino accounts.
According to Softec, "the obligation of paying the customers of Las Vegas Casino Inc. ("Las Vegas Casino") is,
and always has been the responsibility of Las Vegas Casino, but according to an email sent to us on August 12, 1999 by the owner of Las Vegas Casino, they have no intention of paying the winnings owed to their customers."
Softec says they will cover any losses incurred by customers to protect the reputation of legitimate players in the online gaming industry.
"Any customer who played on Las Vegas Casino gambling sites and has been refused payment by Las Vegas Casino will be reimbursed by Softec, provided that each customer provides evidence that 1) they have requested payment from Las Vegas Casino; and 2) that Las Vegas Casino has refused to pay their winnings."
