NEWS

Another week, another series of news bits related to land-based and online casinos.

The World Series of Poker is coming up a number of poker sites are offering trips including, 32Red and Titan Poker.

Everybody knows about the dangers of smoking and a ban on land-based casinos should be of benefit right? Maybe not.

Atlantic City, New Jersey has passed a smoking ban for casinos and the casinos aren’t happy.

You might be surprised who’s joining them in voicing displeasure—the Donald.

Yes, Donald Trump has voiced his displeasure with the casino smoking ban telling the Associated Press, “I'm not a smoker, and I don't personally like what smoking does to people.”

“But this puts [casinos] at a huge disadvantage.”

The AP goes on to say that Atlantic City casinos are losing business to slot parlors in Philadelphia—which allow ciggies.

Were you watching the Late Night Talk Shows this week? The Conan O’Briens and Jay Lenos of this world have been promoting “Earth Week” with green-themed shows.

Where are we going with this? The states’ Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Region Two awarded Harrah’s Entertainment the Environmental Quality Award.

The award is given to organizations that display the desire to protect the environment within the region—which includes the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, New Jersey and New York.

Green seems to be the operative color for Harrah’s.
