Florida had better shooting from the perimeter, the better team overall and the better team historically. The Gators beat the Ohio State Buckeyes by a count of 84-75, covering the 4-point Vegas line and going over the 140½-point total in the process.

It was Florida's second NCAA hoops title in-a-row and their second NCAA championship this year. The Florida football Gators won the BCS championship in January.
