Internet casino GoldenPalace.com will become the first cyber casino to sponsor a Major League Baseball team, the Montreal Expos, according to a press release issued by the casino today.

"We are extremely grateful to GoldenPalace.com for their participation and financial support in making this transaction a reality. The presenting sponsorship of English radio will be held by GoldenPalace.com," said Claude Delorme, the Expos Executive Vice President of Business Affairs.

As a major sponsor of the team, GoldenPalace.com hopes to expand their reach and further set themselves apart from their competitors.

"We are very excited to be associated with Major League Baseball and a quality club like the Montreal Expos," said Richard Rowe, the CEO of GoldenPalace.com. "Our involvement with an American institution like Major League Baseball can only help solidify our place in the competitive world of online gaming."

This isn't the first time GoldenPalace.com has been involved in sports. Some of their marketing efforts include "backing" high-profile boxers since late 2001 with their infamous Henna ad tattoo, as well as having their own Racing Team in the well-known ARCA/REMAX division of NASCAR racing.
