Last month Challenge Casino, which licensed gaming software from Sweden's Boss Media, announced that it was temporarily closing its doors and reopening in June with new software.
Boss Media has a reputation as one of the most reliable and widely respected gaming software providers in the industry and it's unusual to see dramatic changes at Boss Media licensees. We contacted Challenge Casino to find out the reason for the change in software.
"Bossmedia's software has too few games," said Maurizio Gigante, spokesperson for Hobby Gaming International Corp. which owns Challenge Casino. But additional games aren't the only reason they're making the switch. "Bossmedia promised us new games but they are in enormous delay," Gigante adds, "and this is a big problem for us."
When asked about the events at Challenge, Johan Sigvardsson, CEO at Boss Media, replied that "we have as a policy to not comment on our relationship with existing or former licensees".
Neither Challenge nor Hobby International has disclosed who will provide the new software.
Players who gambled at Challenge Casino using the Boss Media software are invited to withdraw their money from the casino. "If you have money in your account we invite you to withdraw it; remember that, since Challenge Casino is powered by BossMedia, all credits and withdrawals are ensured by BossMedia and Webdollar."
