Anti- Gambling Steps Up In Nova Scotia 8th October 2009
Sports ads showing groups of young athletes have caused an uproar of anti-gambling protests. The relation between young athletes and anti-gambling is that the ads are actually communicating that gambling funds are often put to good use like funding local sporting activities. The point the anti-gambling groups are trying to make is that the advertisers cannot use underage people and young athletes to promote gambling in anyway.
The anti-gambling group has called for the resignation of the Nova Scotia Gaming executives over the use of the ad. They believe that using children to promote the ads is an absolute disgrace where as some people feel that the anti-gambling group is taking the advertising far off the intended message of community welfare and the good that gambling is providing rather than a promotion of gambling.
