Another Addict Against the Casino 15th November 2009
Over the many decades that casinos have been in operation, they have been countless court cases of gambling addicts taking the casinos to court over casinos taking advantage of gambling addicts and their money. The latest case features in Indiana Supreme Court. Jenny Kephart is taking on the Caesars Indiana casinos, saying that they courted Kephart into gambling because she had a lot of money to lose, even though she had already acted on self exclusion.
Previous cases have often gone the way of the casino, with judges ruling that gambling addicts are still ultimately responsible for their actions and not the casino. The Caesars Indiana casino is already renamed as the Horseshoe Southern Indiana. The casino feels that it is already following the heavy regulations that the state rules them to act upon and have not broken any of the regulations. The case is to be ruled on next year.
