ESPN Extends World Series of Poker Coverage
29th August 2009

Much of the World Series of Poker's growth in global popularity can be credited to ESPN's coverage of the tournament. The two companies have agreed to continue on with the coverage for at least another seven years. This means that ESPN will continue to broadcast the WSOP until 2018, which is watched around the world each year by over 82 million people.

Both companies were still very keen to work with each other. ESPN has many channels that the WSOP is shown on, whilst ESPN knows that poker is continually increasing in popularity around the world.
