Nevada Sets The Standard For Internet Gambling 29th August 2009
The Nevada government is preparing itself for as the nation's regulator of online gambling. Currently, Nevada's budget has taken a big hit with declining gaming and sales tax collections taking a big toll on the state government's revenue. Experts currently believe that Nevada has the statutory structure to be able to investigate and license online gaming companies. This could set the standard for other American states for hosting Internet casinos.
Online gaming providers would be able follow the same type of tax structures that Vegas strip casinos operate on and receive the same type of regulation. All this talk of internet gambling legislation falls upon whether the nation's congress lifts the ban on internet gambling. The current focus of congress is health care reform and the economic crisis, so forecasters see next year as the likely time that congress revisits this issue.
