Online betting exchange Betfair has signalled to the market that it is considering launching a 1.5 billion pound initial public offering in the UK. Many analysts see this move as a consolidation move by the company, with views of re-entering the US market.

Now major companies have floated on the UK stock exchange since the global financial crisis so Betfair's intentions of an IPO has lifted the sentiment throughout that expansion and investment is still possible even with a recession on and that many companies are expecting the US ban on online gambling be lifted soon.

Betfair is the world's largest internet betting exchange company. They have over 2,000,000 customers and revenue over 50 million pounds a week.
