Many US state governments are continually pushing for gambling expansion. Now the state of Oregon has conducted polls that suggest voters are supporting a creation of a casino in the Portland area. A poll conducted by a private company has released figures that 54 percent of Oregon voters support the idea of a new casino, whilst 40 percent oppose the idea and 6 percent were unsure.
The process to building a new casino requires Oregon voters to approve a constitutional amendment to allow a non-tribal casino. Such a move can only possibly occur in 2010 and with lots of support from the public.
