Gambling continues to grow as a national pastime everywhere. With online gambling allowing gamblers to access their favourite game from the comfort of their own home 24 hours a day. Governments around the world have been mixed in their response in managing this phenomenon. Some governments have allowed for the expansion, whilst others have restricted the evolution.
The Czech Republic has recently changed its stance on this topic and has allowed five of the largest gambling companies to establish online casinos. Part of this granting of the licence includes new legislation to help monitor and prevent under age gamblers from playing online.
Taking a piece of the tax revenue that comes with gambling is a major cause for why so many governments are reviewing their policies on this matter. Additionally, government control firmly establishes a legal framework to govern illegal gaming and controlled cash handling. The only drawback to this change in the policy is that only the Czech companies are subject to taxes by the government, however non-Czech companies are not subject to the same taxes even if they are used by Czech citizens.
With the world recession unpredictably governing the decisions that governments make, allowing more gambling provides greater income for the government and greater employment for its people.
