The state of Ohio has decided that it will be up to its people to decide whether they will allow casino gambling expansion. Currently, the Senate and the House in Ohio have very different views on gambling expansion with the house in favour, and the senate not. Such a debacle has led to continual debate and disagreement over how the budget will be drafted for the next two years.
A quick peak at the iTunes Store reveals lots of programs that include both simulation against the computer and other live iPhone users, poker results managing and tracking software, odds calculators, tutorials are able to be purchased and also downloaded for free.
Ohio Governor Ted Strickland himself has jumped over the fence to both sides with first being against expansion and now supporting expansion. He has now asked the legislators to make a decision on the budget, effectively asking them to include expansion or not. With the senate trying to offer a compromise, they are now suggesting that the gambling issue should be put to the voters. With four new casinos on the cards for the major cities in Ohio, the people now have the control of who gets to build on their land.
Ohio voters have often changed their minds whether they want more gambling or not. A recent poll, however, suggests that 60% of the state would vote for gambling expansion.
