Whilst everybody is busy focusing on the World Series of Poker in Vegas, ;All In The Poker Movie’ premiered in June and was well received. The documentary directed by Douglas Tirola explores the poker explosion and features Chris Moneymaker heavily as one of they key contributors to what poker is today.
One hundred and thirty people are interviewed in the movie, including poker celebrities and professionals like Scotty Nguyen, Joe Hachem, Phil Hellmuth, Jennifer Tilly and Matt Damon.
The film first premiered world wide at the 2009 CineVegas Film Festival where it won the festival’s award for best documentary. Apart from exploring the whole Christ Moneymaker saga and pocket cams, the movie explores other social poker characteristics like addiction, ethics, the law and poker, UIGEA, etc. The movie does not actually try to promote or discourage poker but tries to look at it from an unbiased view and its affect on society.
