UK independent broadcast regulator Ofcom has allowed for shopping television during the late night hours and this will affect punters.
"ITV, Channel 4 and Five have been allowed to air teleshopping for insomniacs between midnight and 6am," reports the telegraph.co.uk.
"Another rule that limits non-PSB channels to broadcast only three hours of teleshopping a day will also be relaxed."
While infomercials probably aren't on the minds of night owl bettors, there was another change announced by Ofcom that was of interest to them.
"In addition Ofcom has reclassified all transactional gambling shows on TV as teleshopping," reports the guardian.co.uk.
"This means they can only be aired after 12am and will be subject to the advertising code including stronger regulation such as preventing younger viewers being targeted and cracking down on misleading claims."
