InterPoker Takes Shot At Corrupt Officials
22 May, 2009

POKER

In light of a spending scandal in the UK, InterPoker has a special promotion.

According to reports, a number of UK politicians have been busted for spending habits and some have even been forced to return money.

RealWire reports that online poker site InterPoker is offering those politicians a chance to win that money back.

"Leading poker game company InterPoker is now giving them one final chance to hold on to the cash, by entering into a heads-up poker tournament," RealWire said.

According to the report, the following politicians have been invited:

Peter Viggers, who spent £1,645 on a duck pond; Michael Gove, who blew £7,000 on furniture; Oliver Letwin, who wasted £2,000 on pipe under tennis court; Alan Duncan, who saw fit to charge £5,000 on gardening and Hazel Blears, who can win back £13,332 for taxes.

In addition, InterPoker extended a special invite to Commons Speaker Michael Martin, who tried to write-off £1,400 for a car service which shuttled him around his electoral district and to watch his favorite soccer team.

"[Martin] is being offered the chance to win a Celtic season ticket with chauffeur-driven car to each game, if he accepts InterPoker’s offer to play in the online poker tournament," InterPoker said.

"InterPoker is facilitating a challenge between these disgraced politicians and the public," explained a spokesperson from InterPoker.

"We’re giving them the chance to win back their dignity as well as the cash if they manage to beat the public in a fair fight."

"We hope that they’ll take us up on our offer by visiting the site and registering for these very special online poker tournaments."
