Greenlight Search Engine Marketing recently conducted research pertaining to top online gambling brand names.

According to the eGaming Review, PartyPoker, 888.com and PokerStars ranked the highest.

"The research by search engine marketing company Greenlight shows that the three poker and gaming giants beat rivals such as Everest, Full Tilt and Ladbrokes when poker-related terms such as 'online poker,' 'free poker' and the word 'poker' itself are entered into search engines," said EGR.

Greenlight used online search data gathered in March, cross-referenced with Google rankings to see where they placed in the first page of search results.

According to numbers from egrmagazine.com, PartyPoker and 888.com were neck in neck, appearing in 58 and 57 percent of first page of search results for poker terms respectively.

PokerStars appeared in 40 percent.

"It's page one or nothing when it comes to search engine use," Greenlight CEO Warren Cowan is quoted as saying in EGR.

"A handful of sites in each vertical are doing well and everyone else is lagging behind."
