POKER
Two high-profile names in the poker world have signed a sponsorship deal.
World Poker Tour Enterprises and the World Poker Tour have inked an international TV pact with PokerStars for the World Poker Tour's seventh season that will secure "exclusive gaming sponsorship of selected broadcasts in Europe and the Americas," said the WPT.
"PokerStars receives title sponsorship, exclusive in-show educational or gaming site and brand integration in all WPT Season VII “original” episodes (featuring commentary by Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten) airing in Canada, Germany, Italy and Netherlands."
In addition, the two will also collaborate to develop Spanish and Portuguese-language programming for specific areas in Latin America—the WPT has developed and aired similar programs for France, UK, Philippines, South Korea and Macedonia.
"TV sponsorship is an important part of our business, so having the biggest company in the poker industry jump on board is an exciting way to start international distribution of Season VII," explained WPT founder and CEO Steve Lipscomb.
"We look forward to working with PokerStars as we roll out the latest WPT programming to fans in these territories."
