Irish Premier League Wagering Suspended
24 April, 2009

NEWS

Irregular betting patterns led to Paddy Power to take bets off the board.

Unless you're planning on Linfield and Glentoran, there won't be any Irish Premier League matches to wager on.

"Paddy Power said there had been an unusually high number of bets placed on teams which had no chance of winning the league title," reported bbc.co.uk.

"We were alerted to one fixture in particular, but there have also been large wagers on a number of other games," a spokesperson is quoted as saying.

"It's a problem at this time of the season when a lot of teams have nothing to play for."

Paddy also cautioned that there might not be anything wrong as well.
