Possible March Madness Upsets
20 March, 2009

SPORTS

There weren't really any earth-shattering upsets in the first full day of March Madness, although Western Kentucky did knock out Illinois and American covered as 15-point underdogs against Villanova in an 80-67 loss. Recap of yesterday's action.

The good thing about it is, there is another full slate of action on tap for today but would the real Cinderella team please stand up?

Midwest Region: (13) Cleveland St. Vikings vs. (4) Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Listed as an 8-point underdog against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, could the Cleveland St. Vikings come up with a big win? The Vikings were pretty hot coming down the stretch going 15-5 SU and 11-8-1 ATS in their last 20 games coming into the tournament.

While Wake Forest is 11-9 SU in its last 20 games in March it hasn't covered as often, going 8-11-1 ATS.

Cleveland State has gone 6-2 SU in its last eight games in the month of March and is currently on a 4-0 win streak.

Midwest Region: (9) Siena Saints vs. (8) Ohio State Buckeyes

While it was only 9-11 ATS in its last 20 games, Siena was hot straight up going 17-3 and listed at +3 for today's tilt against the Buckeyes and it has gone 6-4 SU and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games when underdogs of 4-points or less.

East Region: (12) Wisconsin Badgers vs. (5) Florida St. Seminoles

The 2.5-point underdog Wisconsin Badgers will play a tilt against FSU and Wisconsin has gone 7-3 SU in its last 10 games.

In its last 20 games when listed at +4 or less, the Badgers are 11-9 SU and more importantly for bettors playing Wisconsin against the spread, 12-8 ATS.

Midwest Region: (16) Morehead St. Eagles vs. (1) Louisville Cardinals

After making the field of 64 by defeating the Alabama State Hornets by a score of 58-43 in the opening round, the Morehead State Eagles are big 20.5-point underdogs against Louisville.

While the Eagles have gone 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS against the Cards dating back to 1997, they are 10-5 SU and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games.

Will they upset Louisville? Probably not, but their record in the last 15 games is worth mentioning.
