The WPT holds events all over the world, including a new tourney in Venice, Italy.
The World Poker Tour will be teaming up with bwin to hold the WPT Venice, powered by bwin.
Scheduled to take place between May 6-10, "The tournament will combine the legacy and fierce competitiveness of the World Poker Tour and the stunning Casino di Venezia, situated right on the east bank of the Grand Canal," the WPT said in a release.
Furthermore the WPT was happy to be expanding into Italy and was happy to team up with bwin.
"We’re thrilled to launch our first ever brick-and-mortar WPT tournament offering in Italy," said WPT founder, president and CEO Steve Lipscomb.
"bwin is a strong partner with the right market position in the region. We look forward to working with them to bring this event and the WPT brand to poker players in Italy and Europe."
The feeling was mutual according to bwin.
"We are delighted to be working with WPT on this spectacular tournament," said bwin co-CEO Manfred Bodner.
"This event will bring together the excitement and interactivity that only bwin can offer–people will be able to bet on the players of the final table while watching the action on their screen."
Buy-in for the event is €4,000+400 and on top of the prize, the winner will also take home WPT Venice bracelet and a seat in the WPT's 2010 championship.
