Hansen-Jorgensen Prepare To Duke It Out
4 February, 2009

FEATURES

Gus Hansen is used to going heads up with other players but is he ready to go toe to toe?

The boxing ring has seen a number of good bouts in the past 365 days from Manny Pacquiao vs. Oscar De La Hoya to Antonio Margarito vs. Shane Mosely but is the world ready for Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen and Theo "The Thunder" Jorgensen?

The two poker pros will be squaring off as part of the launch of Hansen's new website, www.gushansentv.com, but unlike other boxing cards, this one will air free of charge on February 21, 2009.

Hansen and Jorgensen are more than rivals on the green felt; they are rivals on the squash court as well.

According to reports, Hansen would begin shadow-boxing after beating Jorgensen at squash and "The Thunder" became sick of the showing off and challenged "The Great Dane" to partake in the Sweet Science.

On top of pride, $35,000 will be on the line and Hansen says he's ready to duke it out.

"Beating up Theo in boxing will be much more enjoyable than winning over him in poker," joked Hansen.

"The sweet taste of victory cannot even be made up in terms of money."

More important than the opportunity box a little, Hansen was excited about the impending launch of gushansentv.com, which will chronicle his exploits and allow him to interact with his fans.

"Today's technology means everyone can sit down with me and watch as I play live at tournaments or even just in my hotel room with friends," said the Danish pro.

"And because it is online, Gus TV can reach the whole world, for fans as far away as Osaka and Oklahoma."
