POKER
It seems fitting that this year's Aussie Millions Poker Championship was won by, well, an Aussie.
Australian Stewart Scott played to "homefield" advantage and outlasted a field of 680 players to take home first place in the Aussie Millions' main event and AUD$2 million—Scott, a former chef, went heads up with American Peter Rho in final table play.
According to Bluff Europe, Scott became the first person from the Australia/New Zealand area since Lee Nelson in 2006 to take the event.
"It's amazing, I can't even explain it, it's off the hook," Scott told Australia's Herald Sun when asked about his win.
Scott said he would pay off his mortgage with his winnings and didn't rule out the possibility of more real estate deals.
