It's always amazing to see the how TV comedy Seinfeld still permeates pop culture today.
Jason Alexander played George Costanza and although he has done other projects since the series concluded, people will always know him as George.
Another activity Costanza, err, Alexander has been involved in since Seinfeld's finale is poker with appearances at notable events such as the World Series of Poker and NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship in 2008 and his profile in the poker world is about to become higher.
Poker management agency Poker Royalty announced it has negotiated a deal that will see Jason Alexander joining popular online poker room PokerStars.
As one of PokerStars' latest celebrity ambassadors, Alexander will represent the poker site in a number of events including, "online and live poker events, including the 2009 World Series of Poker and on the various Poker Stars global poker tour circuits," said Poker Royalty.
"Poker Stars has very graciously asked me to sign on as one of their official players," said Alexander.
"I am very flattered and happy to be playing for a real quality site and with the kind of professionals that remind me every day how truly mediocre I am at this game. But I'm learning. And now I can learn from some of the best."
"J.Alexander" will be Alexander's online gamertag at PokerStars.com and he will also be a participant in this season of NBC's Poker After Dark.
