POKER
Paddy Power's online poker site, paddypoker.com, announced that it has released poker software that players don't need to download.
Paddypoker's "No Download, Instant Play" software promises that players will be play on their computers or laptops "anytime" and "anywhere."
According to paddypoker.com, the Instant Play software uses Adobe Flash and is compatible with PC, Linux and Macintosh, although Paddy strongly suggests Mac owners use Firefox browsers as opposed to Safari.
"Safari Browsers are currently not supported," Paddy said.
"[Instant Play] can be used on all widely used internet browsers (Mozilla Firefox 1.5+ and Internet Explorer 6+), operating systems and platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix)."
Existing Paddy players will be able to log on using current accounts and although Texas Hold'em is the only game being offered at the moment, more games will be on the way.
"We’re thrilled to extend our product offering to include a non-downloadable version of our software," said paddypoker.com's communications manager.
"The fact that players can now use the Instant Play software anytime, anywhere gives them the flexibility to play at times that were previously unsuitable."
"It also means that players who don’t want to download the standard software client can try out the iPoker software on paddypowerpoker.com."
