ESPN To Air 2008 World Series Of Poker Europe 5 January, 2009

With the American version of the World Series of Poker broadcast shown on ESPN, it only make sense that the European version of the WSOP see airtime as well.
The main event tournament, which ran in London, England for six days between late-September and early October will air on ESPN starting February 1, 2009 and concluding on March 1, 2009, eight hour-long episodes in all.
Viewers will see a field of 362 players from across the globe, including the United States and Europe, competing for the prestigious WSOPE main event championship bracelet and as well, see a condensed version of the final table which, according to a release, took 19 hours to complete.
Episodes will be hosted by both Lon McEachern and Norman Chad and will feature the innovative "Mobile Hole Card Camera" which will not only show pocket cards at the feature table but many of the other tables as well.
"We believe the Mobile Hold Card Camera will provide fans a great understanding of the overall story behind the tournament and how the players advanced to the final table," explained ESPN's senior sports producer, Jamie Horowitz.
John Juanda, who outlasted the main event field, took home $1.5 million.
According to a release, the eight episodes will air on ESPN2 on the following dates:
