POKER
After finishing seventh at the 2008 WSOP's Main Event, David "Chino" Rheem built on the momentum and took first place at the recent Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada; a WPT event.
The win was Rheem's first WPT victory and outlasted a field of 497 (with a $15,000 buy-in) and beat out Justin Young in final table heads-up play to take home over $1.5 million.
According to bluffeurope.com, on the winning hand, "Chino" flashed a pair of Ks which beat out Young's "two ladies" to take first place—Young walked away with just under $1 million as the runner-up.
"The way I play is a combination of how everyone plays," Rheem told ClubWPT after his Five Diamond World Classic win.
"I just learn a little from all of them. Now I’m on a heater and it’s funny—just watch good people play and you gravitate towards it."
It was a great finish for a very respectable 2008 for David "Chino" Rheem who, according to bluffeurope.com, saw his lifetime winnings inflate to $4 million-plus.
